What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions is a technique applying 1+ extensions on the natural lashes to create a longer and fuller look, for short-term wear only. There are 3 different types of extensions:
Cluster
Classic
Volume
These extensions are pre-made synthetic furs that will be applied with eyelash-specific glue on top of each other along the lash line.
Are eyelash extensions harmful?
A properly trained technician will apply the extensions ~1.5mm away from the lash line and only choose to apply on the adult lashes, so the young lashes are left to fully develop. Therefore, the extensions will not cause any harm to the natural lashes.
How long does it last?
Eyelashes extensions last 4-6 weeks and can be maintained indefinitely with refills.
Why do I need fill-ins?
Your natural lashes grow in and fall out in cycles.
1st week: You will lose ~21 lashes
2nd week: You will lose ~42 lashes
3rd week: You will lose ~63 lashes
Since the extensions are bonded to your own natural lashes, you will need to refill the areas where your natural lashes have fallen out.
The touch ups general take 30-45min, but it depends on how many lashes have fallen out.
How long does a full-set take?
It takes about 55min to 1hr and 15min. I advise you to come free of make-up around eye areas.
Can I wear mascara or makeup?
When the extensions are on, there is no need for mascara. However, it is ok to have makeup on your eyes as long as you clean and wash it off afterwards.
What brand of lashes does Lashes by Quynh use?
